Innova Corporate (India) manufactures and supplies high-performance RO Antiscalant for Norway — a country where water treatment is not a luxury but an operational necessity. From the oil platforms of the North Sea to the salmon hatcheries of Tromsø and the hydropower stations of Telemark, Norwegian industries depend on Reverse Osmosis systems that must perform flawlessly in some of the coldest, most corrosive and most remote conditions on earth. Our antiscalant chemicals are engineered precisely for this reality.
Norway's water sources are unusually diverse. Offshore platforms draw from deep seawater with high sulfate and magnesium content. Coastal municipalities treat brackish fjord water that changes composition with tides and seasons. Inland facilities in Gudbrandsdalen and Valdres rely on soft, low-alkalinity surface water that behaves very differently from typical hard water. Salmon farms in Hitra, Frøya and the Lofoten archipelago need biologically stable water with zero chemical carryover. Each of these environments creates a different scaling profile — and a generic antiscalant simply cannot handle all of them. That is why we formulate region-specific blends for the Norwegian market.
Our RO Antiscalant in Norway portfolio includes low-pH, high-pH, high-silica, high-iron and antifoulant variants, along with solid antiscalant balls for small remote systems. Every product is tested for solubility and stability at 2°C to 6°C — the temperature range Norwegian feedwater commonly falls into during winter. Cold water slows crystal kinetics but does not reduce scaling risk; in fact, certain sulfate and silica scales become harder to remove once formed. Our chemistry prevents that formation before it begins.
Technical Support for Norwegian Clients: Every RO system in Norway faces a unique combination of feedwater chemistry, temperature, recovery rate and operational schedule. Our technical team works directly with plant engineers in Oslo, Bergen, Stavanger, Trondheim, Tromsø and offshore installations to calculate the correct antiscalant dose, recommend the right variant and monitor performance over time. Whether you operate a small decentralised plant in Finnmark or a large desalination facility in the Oslofjord region, we provide the chemistry and the support to keep your membranes clean and your operations running.
Norwegian offshore platforms in the North Sea and Norwegian Sea operate RO units to produce potable water for crew and process water for operations. Seawater and brackish feed sources contain high levels of calcium, magnesium, sulfate and barium ions. Without antiscalant, these ions form hard deposits on membranes within weeks, forcing frequent cleaning and premature element replacement. Since transporting chemicals and technicians to a remote platform costs far more than onshore, preventing scale before it forms delivers enormous savings. Our antiscalant is formulated to remain effective at the low seawater temperatures typical of Norwegian waters.
Yes. Norwegian feedwater often drops to 2°C to 6°C during winter, and many conventional antiscalants become viscous or separate at these temperatures. Our formulations are specifically tested for cold-water stability and remain fully soluble and pumpable even at 2°C. Cold water actually increases the risk of certain scales because mineral solubility changes and crystal growth kinetics slow down, allowing deposits to accumulate more gradually but more stubbornly. Our chemistry inhibits crystallization regardless of temperature.
The biggest users in Norway are offshore oil and gas (Equinor, Aker BP, Vår Energi and their suppliers), aquaculture and salmon farming (hatcheries, smolt facilities, RAS systems in Troms, Nordland and Møre og Romsdal), hydropower stations, municipal desalination plants along the coast, food and beverage processing, pharmaceutical manufacturing around Oslo and Bergen, and the maritime sector including ferries and cruise ships. Each of these industries has distinct scaling challenges, and we customise the antiscalant variant and dose accordingly.
Dosing depends on feedwater analysis, recovery rate, membrane type and operating temperature. Standard dosage ranges from 2 to 6 mg/L (ppm), but offshore seawater systems and high-silica inland sources may require 6 to 8 ppm during peak scaling periods. For potable applications, the maximum is capped at 10 mg/L. We provide free dosing calculations based on your water analysis report — simply share your ion profile, temperature data and system parameters, and our technical team will recommend the exact dose.
Yes. Silica is a major challenge in many Norwegian surface water and groundwater sources, especially in inland regions. Silica forms glass-like deposits that are extremely difficult to remove once they polymerise on membrane surfaces. Our high-silica antiscalant variant inhibits silica polymerisation and keeps it in soluble form even at high recovery rates. This is particularly important for facilities in Gudbrandsdalen, Valdres and other inland areas where surface water dominates the feed source.
Absolutely. Our antiscalant is widely used as a cost-effective alternative to traditional ion exchange softeners. On offshore platforms and compact modular systems, removing the softener saves valuable space, weight, salt consumption and regeneration water. For Norwegian municipal and industrial plants, it eliminates the capital and operating costs associated with softener installation and maintenance. The antiscalant does not remove hardness ions but prevents them from forming scale on membranes.
Our antiscalants are manufactured using food-grade and NSF-compliant raw materials. They are suitable for potable water RO systems when used at recommended doses, and they comply with EU drinking water norms as well as guidelines from the Norwegian Institute of Public Health (FHI). We provide complete documentation including MSDS, technical data sheets and compliance certificates for Norwegian water authorities and municipal plant operators.
Our liquid antiscalants have a shelf life of 24 months when stored in original sealed containers away from direct sunlight. For Norway's cold climate, store the product above 0°C to prevent freezing. If the product freezes during transport to northern Norway or offshore installations, simply thaw it gradually at room temperature and stir thoroughly before use. Performance remains completely unchanged after proper thawing and mixing.
Yes. Along with our antiscalant range, we supply alkaline and acidic membrane cleaning chemicals (CIP chemicals), biocides and antifoulants. All products are compatible with polyamide thin-film composite membranes from all major manufacturers. We ship to Norwegian ports including Oslo, Bergen, Stavanger, Trondheim, Tromsø and Kristiansand, and can arrange delivery to offshore supply bases for platform transfers.
Antiscalant prevents inorganic mineral scale — calcium carbonate, calcium sulfate, barium sulfate, strontium sulfate and silica. Antifoulant targets organic and biological fouling — humic substances, algae, bacteria, and colloidal matter. Norwegian surface water sources often contain high organic content, while seawater and offshore systems face both scaling and biofouling. Many Norwegian plants therefore use a combined program of antiscalant and antifoulant for complete membrane protection. We offer both products individually and as a combined treatment package.
